Equipment:
- Disposable wooden stick
- Glass slide
- Cover slip
- Water
- Dropper
- Mounted needle
- Microscope
- Methylene Blue Stain
Method:
- Using one end of the wooden stick, scrape the inside cheek of the mouth to obtain a sample of cheek cells.
- Place sample on a glass slide.
- Using the dropper, place a few drops of methylene blue stainĀ on the sample.
- Add a few drops of water to the sample.
- Slowly, using the mounted needle, lower the cover slip at an angle, to prevent air bubbles.
- Examine the cells underneath low power and then under high power.
