Pre-cast

Advantages

  • Very high load bearing capacity.
  • Fire-proof.
  • Good sound insulators.
  • No waiting for concrete to set, work can begin immediately.
  • Quality of the concrete is guaranteed.

Disadvantages

  • Very expensive.
  • Only standard sizes available which may not suit.

In-situ cast

Advantages

  • Not as expensive.
  • Can be made to any shape and size.

Disadvantages

  • Quality is not guaranteed.
  • Time is needed to let the concrete set.
