It’s much easier to understand how the paragraph is constructed by learning off key words which are in a list at the end of the post.

Question

What do you think of the warnings that you can read on cigarette packets?

Answer

English

In my opinion, I completely agree with this warning as it is a very good way of informing people of a handful of the effects of tobacco addiction.

First of all, the tobacco is the cause of grave illnesses such as cancer of the lungs, illness of the heart and respiratory (breathing).

Secondly, cigarettes nowadays are responsible for a number of deaths, therefore it is necessary to know that when they smoke, one’s life is at risk.

Thirdly, it’s also true that smokers put the life and health of others in danger. In effect, a non-smoker goes and breathes the smoke of the person who is smoking and is going to become exposed to same danger by passive smoking.

To finish, I must say that I agree with this statement, the fact that they have warnings on the packets of cigarettes.

Klara, love the website. I think it’s a great initiative and am sure students will find it helpful. Your writing is very insightful. I’m getting involved in the online education area myself and tying together my background in IT and some years spent living in France.

Check out http://www.frenchgrinds.ie for some more details. I hope you don’t mind I borrowed your excellent essay above and added some corrections. Bear in mind I am an IT guy – and a french teacher second….so you may need to correct my corrections!
    Excellent written french though.

I am keen to see what other needs french students have out there that could be met by the online community. At the moment it does seem a little fragmented and random. I am trying to tie together existing content and present it in a structured way. What I feel though is that students are ‘learning’ french rather than understanding it. Hence my interest in providing feedback via Live Chat sessions/OnLine Grinds (WiziQ) and uploading of assessments. In my experience from giving grinds students will more than lightly never ask the ‘stupid’ question [there are none].

Maybe with online resources like this it will be easier….Your comments & suggestions welcome. Keep bloggin’
    Brendan
